Thomas C. Stabley
President and Chief Executive Officer, Director
Thomas C. Stabley was appointed Chief Executive Officer and a director of Rex Energy’s board in October 2011 and President in August 2015. Mr. Stabley was a co-founder of Rex Energy in 2004 as CFO and made significant contributions to its initial public offering in 2007. Since the company went public, Mr. Stabley has played key roles in subsequent offerings, acquisitions, divestitures, joint venture agreements and has contributed greatly to the company’s day to day operations. Prior to his career at Rex Energy, Mr. Stabley was Vice President of Accounting for Shaner Hotels where he worked with Rex Energy’s Chairman, Mr. Lance T. Shaner. Mr. Stabley brings over 15 years of expertise in capital markets, financial reporting, corporate finance and strategic planning to the position of CEO. Mr. Stabley holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh.
Robert W. Ovitz
Chief Operating Officer
Bob Ovitz was named Chief Operating Officer in July 2015. Prior to his promotion, he served as Senior Vice President, Operations. Mr. Ovitz joined Rex Energy in December 2014 with over 30 years of extensive technical experience, as well as experience leading and managing business organizations and project teams within the oil and gas industry. Most recently, Mr. Ovitz was Senior Operations Manager for Noble Energy’s Appalachian Basin Unit and he held a similar position with Noble overseeing their Rockies and Mid-Continent Divisions in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Ovitz has extensive experience in unconventional and conventional resource plays primiarly in drilling, completions, and HSE functional areas. Mr. Ovitz has served as board member for both the Marcellus Shale Coalition (MSC) and the West Virginia Oil & Natural Gas Association (WVONGA) and also served as an Extensive Board Member for the MSC. Mr. Ovitz has a BS in Petroleum Engineering from Marietta College. He also received a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Denver.
Thomas Rajan
Chief Financial Officer
Thomas Rajan was named Chief Financial Officer in January 2015. Most recently, Mr. Rajan has been serving as the manging partner of High View Energy LLC, a Fort Worth, TX-based company focused on domestic exploration and production. He was previously Managing Director of KeyBanc Capital Markets in Dallas, where he spent eight years in investment and corporate banking roles, ultimately leading the Oil & Gas Investment Banking and Corporate Banking practices. While at KeyBanc, Mr. Rajan was instrumental in assiting Rex Energy through the company’s IPO and subsequent equity raising transactions, and he has advised Rex’s management on a number of strategic acquisition and divestiture projects since 2006. Prior to his time at KeyBanc, Mr. Rajan spent several years in corporate finance roles with Comerica Bank, Cross Timbers Oil Company and JP Morgan Chase. Mr.Rajan has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration in Finance and International Business, both from Texas Tech University.
Curt Walker
Chief Accounting Officer
Curt Walker was named Chief Accounting Officer in May 2012. Prior to his promotion, he served as Vice President, Accounting, and has been with Rex Energy since 2007. Throughout his tenure at Rex Energy he has been responsible for significant financial and internal control activities, including those relating to financial planning and reporting, accounting, budgeting and forecasting, procurement, credit facility and risk management. In addition, he has led the accounting and financial reporting aspects of three of the company’s public equity transactions raising approximately $263 million. Prior to joining Rex Energy, Mr. Walker was with YRC Worldwide, a Fortune 500 trucking and transportation company, from 2003-2007. Mr. Walker holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and an M.B.A., both from Shippensburg University.
F. Scott Hodges
Senior Vice President, Land and Business Development
Mr. Hodges was named Senior Vice President, Land in October 2011. Prior to his promotion, he served as Vice President, Land, and has been with Rex Energy since 2010. His current responsibilities include acquisition and management of mineral and surface rights necessary for the continued growth of the company. Prior to joining Rex Energy, Mr. Hodges served as Regional Land Manager for Consol Energy, where he had served in several different positions in the land and mineral rights field since 1997.
David E. Pratt
Senior Vice President and Exploration Manager
David Pratt was named Vice President, Exploration Manager in March 2008. He has over 30 years experience as a senior geologist working on projects located throughout the United States. Mr. Pratt comes to Rex Energy from Cabot Oil and Gas working in the Appalachian Basin. Specific work included the Oriskany, Knox, Onondaga and Trenton-Black River plays, as well as the Devonian Shale and Devonian/Carboniferous sandstone in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. He also gained substantial working knowledge in the Appalachian Front of Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Tennessee. Prior to his Cabot Oil and Gas, Pratt worked for Texaco in West Texas; Sohio Petroleum in Colorado, Nevada and Utah; Ensource and Enstar in the western U.S.; and Ultramar in Texas and the Rocky Mountain areas. Mr. Pratt obtained his B.S. degree in Geology from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany, NY and earned an M.A degree in Geology from Rice University in Houston.
